Kathy Scigliano is running for Laramie County Commissioner. As a small business owner in Laramie County, she feels that the people are not being heard and wants to change that.

What have you learned from campaigning and talking to the people of Wyoming?

I’ve learned that the people are ready for a change and are looking forward to getting new commissioners. They are very receptive to what I say about transparency being needed.

What has been the best and worst thing about campaigning?

The best has been talking g to the people of Laramie County and listening to their concerns
The worst has been the big bites. Haha. Walking around in the evening and putting up signs in fields are the best way to get them. Haha

What, When, and Where do you have any events planned?

July 18th at Sun Valley Park 5:30
July 19th at Saddle Ridge Park 5:30

Why have you decided to run in this election and for this position?

I decided to run for Laramie County Commissioner because I feel we need more transparency and accountability with our elected officials at all levels

Have you held a political office before, or have you run before?

No

What is your background and what qualifies you to be elected to office?

I am a small business owner and realtor, but most of all I am a community member of Laramie County and believe that if you want to see changes in your community, you should take a more active role and run for office.

What will be your number one priority if elected to office?

My allegiance will always be to the community members of Laramie County and I will strive to be as open and transparent to them as I would want someone to be to me. I want the community to always feel they are being heard.

Do you believe that there are issues in current county politics? What will you do to address these issues? If you don’t believe there are issues, how do you plan to keep the status quo?

One of the biggest issues I hear is that the people’s voice is not being heard and they feel that deals are being done behind closed doors. I want to make sure that’s not being done and show our community that they can have confidence and trust in me as an elected official. I want them to always be informed, and if there is something I know that the community has concerns about, I want them to be one of the first to know about it so they can come to meetings and express their feelings and ideas on the situation.

Who do you get inspiration from? Are there any leaders or politicians, past or present, that you admire?

There are lots of people I draw inspiration from and admire in how they handle themselves. Some are friends and family, and some are elected officials I have met along the way on this journey. One in particular doesn’t stand out to me. But what I look for in people are qualities. I will always admire someone that tells the truth and is honest, even if it’s not what everyone wants to hear. That’s how I am so, that is something I admire in people.
